THERAPEUTIC MENTORING PROGRAM
Therapeutic Mentoring Program- Our Mentoring program services our youth who are in our S.T.A.R.S. program (boys and girls) We match at-risk youth, ages 8 to 18 with qualified therapy mentors, who self-identify with a diverse population, applicants are matched up based on shared interests, and skills. Our mentors will offer a minimum one hour per week of relationship building activities; and develop relationships with our “mentee’s" parents/guardians. The purpose of our Therapeutic Mentoring Program to assist our youth with life skills, improving problem behaviors and exposing youth to educational, cultural and recreational activities. Mentors are trained in verbal de-escalation, driver safety, community engagement, CPR and First aid and a host of other therapeutic trainings offered by Therapy Department.
